SCOUTS BSA TROOP 51

Troop 51 is located in the Foothills District of the San Diego-Imperial Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  We offer scouting for boys and girls ages 11 thru 17 in our troop and venturing for ages 14 thru 20 in our coed crew.

Troop 51 was originally chartered in La Mesa, California, in 1921 and has been continuously chartered at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church since 1947.  Starting in 2023 we are chartered under the American Legion Post 282.

We are a scout led troop that subscribes to the guidelines of the Boy Scouts of America and is a Journey to Excellence unit. We have an active schedule that includes at least one overnight outdoor activity each month with focus on character development, citizenship, and personal fitness.  These outings include: Camping, Hiking, Backpacking, Rock Climbing, Fishing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Skiing, Snowboarding and Rafting.  Scouts can also attend annual Summer Camps and bi-annual backpacking treks.

Troop 51 meets Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, La Mesa, CA.  Visitors are always welcome. Please contact us with any questions at: jointroop51lamesa@gmail.com.
